Who Has Madison Beer Dated? All About Her Previous Relationships ArticlePure

Before Madison Beer found love with her boyfriend Nick Austin, she had several relationships in the public eye.

The “Make You Mine” singer’s first public romance was with YouTube star Jack Gilinsky, whom she dated from 2015 until 2017. Following their split, she was briefly linked to Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham. In 2018, Beer began dating DJ and club promoter Zack Bia, before they called it quits the following year.

Fast forward to 2020, and fans started speculating she was seeing former Hype House member Austin. Though the singer and the content creator kept their romance quiet at first, they made their relationship Instagram official in March 2021.

During an April 2025 conversation with Cosmopolitan, Beer called herself a “lover girl” and reflected on being a relationship person.

“I love people. I meet someone, I love them,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m never letting you go. You’ll be with me forever until you hurt me.’ That’s the deal.”

“Because I have such a weird life and never feel safe and comfortable with someone, when I cross that line of ‘you’re my boyfriend,’ it feels really big,” she continued.

Here’s a look back at Madison Beer’s dating history.

Beer’s first public relationship was with Gilinsky, who rose to fame on the now-defunct app Vine. They began dating in 2015, with Gilinsky confirming their relationship at the Radio Disney Music Awards that year.

The pair went their separate ways in 2017 after a recording surfaced that July of Gilinsky allegedly verbally abusing Beer the previous year.

In response, the singer posted a message to her fans, explaining that she stayed with the YouTube star despite multiple instances of mistreatment in an effort to “fix him.”

“Don’t make the same mistakes I did, your safety is never worth it. No matter what, no one deserves to be treated that way,” she wrote in the since-deleted post.

Gilinsky released a statement of his own on X, calling the recorded episode “one of our lowest points.”

“Madison knew if she didn’t help me overcome my ways and change, no one would, & I would never learn from my mistakes,” he wrote. “I’ll never be able to thank her enough for believing in me the way she did during that time.”

Shortly after she split from Gilinsky, Beer became romantically linked to Beckham when the two were seen together at a concert in California. They were later spotted dining at Catch L.A. with Beckham’s mom, Victoria.

Though dating rumors swirled about the pair, Beer denied having a romantic relationship while speaking at AOL’s Build Series in July 2017. She explained that they were just “best friends” who were “having fun right now,” but also acknowledged their shared chemistry.

“I’ve known Brooklyn for years, we’ve been really close and as we’ve gotten older — and I’m newly out of a relationship, we’re definitely like crushing on each other,” Beer said. “But we’re both very busy. He’s great, though. He’s a cutie, literally one of my best friends.”

Their fling was brief, as they allegedly split due to long distance. Beckham is now married to Nicola Peltz, whom he married in April 2022.

Beer and Bia began dating in 2018 and had an on-again, off-again relationship until they called it quits in March 2019.

They sparked split rumors after the singer posted a series of cryptic posts on X.

“Before you diagnose yourself with depression and anxiety make sure you’re not just surrounded by a—— and people who don’t care about you,” she posted on March 15.

One day later, she added, “oof i rlly owe myself the biggest apology for puttin up w s— i never deserved.”

On March 19, she confirmed their breakup on X, writing, “single madison thrives.”

While the end of their relationship was tumultuous (many believe she wrote her 2020 hit “Selfish” about him), Bia told GQ in September 2023 that the pair remain close friends, and that Beer has apologized for the backlash he faced after the song was released.

“There’s so much love there,” he said. “She’s someone who’s so instrumental in my life and I still treat as family. Like, she and my mom are still cool.”

Although dating rumors had been swirling between Austin and Beer since the summer of 2020, the pair didn’t make their relationship public until March 2021, when the TikTok influencer posted a sweet birthday message on Instagram for the singer’s 22nd birthday.

“i don’t know how i got so lucky. happy birthday to the love of my life, my best friend, my dream girl, my soulmate,” he wrote. “every day with you feels like im dreaming, which i might be. i love you. forever n ever n ever <3.”

Though they tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, in February 2023, Beer opened up to InStyle about how feeling “safe” with Austin helped her reflect on her past in her new music.

“I’m super happy within my relationship, and I feel really safe, and I feel like I’m with someone I consider my best friend, which is very important,” she said. “In the past, I haven’t really spent ‘friend time’ with my boyfriend, whereas now, I kind of do. So, it feels good.”

With a new album set to be released in late 2025 that could mark a new “career moment,” Beer told Cosmopolitan that she and Austin are “going to figure this all out, hopefully together.”

“I know he’s going to support me, but do I think that he knows or I know or my parents know or my brother knows how we’re going to feel or go through it if and when that does happen? No,” she said of her career potentially reaching new heights.
