Norman Reedus and his Walking Dead costars are remembering Seven, the Belgian Malinois who played Dog on the hit AMC series.
Reedus, 55, shared a photo of himself with Seven, who starred as his character Daryl Dixon’s loyal canine companion beginning in the show’s ninth season, on Instagram June 13.
He simply captioned the post, “7” and added in the comment section, “Will miss u buddy.”
The show’s official Instagram also shared the news of Seven’s death, writing “Rest in peace, Seven. #TWD‘s best boy” alongside several photos of the late dog.
In the comment section of the post, Yvette Nicole Brown replied with a broken heart emoji.
“All dogs go to heaven. Rest in peace, Seven,” the show added on X (formerly known as Twitter), where they also shared a photo of Seven with Melissa McBride (who played Carol).
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who starred as Negan, responded in the comment section with three heart emojis.
Lynn Collins, who played Leah Shaw, and Angelea Kang, the final showrunner of the series, responded to an Instagram post — with same photo of McBride and Seven — with crying Face emojis.
Kang added on her own Instagram Story, “RIP Seven.”

Back in 2018, Reedus opened up about working with Seven on the set of the horror series.
“We just did a scene the other day that ended up being the opposite of what it was supposed to be because the dog just wanted to do something else, and it came out so much better,” Reedus told ??ComicBook.com. “He’ll probably be running the show. It’s great! I love it. He loves me, too.”
