A woman is detailing her fellow airline passenger’s less-than-ideal travel etiquette during a recent experience while boarding a flight.
Author and veteran C. I. Jerez shared a post on Instagram Threads on Friday, Nov. 15, in which she detailed that a mom with a large family was unhappy when her kids couldn’t skip in front of the line to the aircraft.
“So they call my group # and I’m boarding the plane when a mom (ignoring her family) rushes in and I fall in line behind her,” Jerez explained. “Then her family of like 6 are behind me. As we’re about to scan into the jetway she says, ‘excuse me, that’s my family behind you. ‘ ”
Jerez — who noted she was traveling alone — said she offered to “jump ahead” of the woman so that she could join her family, but the idea didn’t go over well.
“She literally rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth and said, ‘Seriously?’ ” Jerez said.
She added, “I think she wanted me to step behind the six of her crew. ?????.”

In the comments section, fellow Instagram Threads users chimed in with their thoughts.
“That is absolutely fabulous!!!! Love ?? love ?? love,” one user commented in support of Jerez.
“This perfectly captures entitled airline behavior,” another wrote, adding, “She wanted to cut in line but tried to make YOU feel like the unreasonable one. You handled it perfectly! ?,”
“Forgive me for being the voice of reason but given that you were traveling alone, it totally makes sense to let you go first given that it will take them some time to get situated,” said someone else.

Another person, meanwhile, wondered why anyone was worried about boarding order in the first place, given that most flights have assigned seats.
