Shaun Weiss says that he struggled during his guest appearance on a 1998 episode of Boy Meets World — namely, because he was “hormonal.”
Speaking on the April 14th episode of Pod Meets World — a Boy Meets World rewatch podcast hosted by Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle — Weiss, now 45, said rewatching the episode in which he guest starred reminds him of “puberty.”
The episode in question, titled “You’re Married, You’re Dead,” aired during season 6 and focused on Cory (played by Ben Savage) and Shawn (Strong) visiting a nightclub called Cleaváge, staffed by women in low-cut tops. Weiss played a fellow guest at the nightclub.

“I gotta be honest — and I remembered the feeling as soon as the episode came on,” Weiss said, admitting he re-watched the episode before appearing on the podcast. “I was really — I don’t know how to say it — hormonal. Hormonal. The chicks on that set, Danielle, I mean…when you came into the room, my chemistry would change.”
Weiss added that actress Maitland Ward had a similar effect on him: “I didn’t know how to control myself, Danielle. And then the other girl, the redhead [Maitland] … the whole time anybody was around, I was just trying to keep it together.”
“And I was just losing my mind … Basically, I’m just bursting at the seams, Danielle, the whole time being like, ‘I gotta go to my trailer for a minute,’ ” he added.
He continued: “Yeah, man. It was just puberty. I remember that show reminded me of puberty watching it. I was just like, holy man. Madness.”

In 2018, Weiss entered rehab after a series of arrests, but was arrested again two years later for residential burglary while reportedly high on meth.
In 2022, the actor shared that he was two years sober, and a month later announced that he’d been cast in his first role in 14 years, appearing in the 2023 film Jesus Revolution.
Elsewhere in the podcast, Weiss spoke about his struggle with addiction issues, saying that having his mug shot go public “in some ways it made it a little easier” to seek help.
“Because first of all, it made me have to surrender earlier than I might have. Because when you have, you know, stories about you on the news and the narrative really isn’t correct, there was nothing I could do about it from a jail cell,” he said. “So I had to decide to surrender early on which ended up being a major benefit in the 12-step program.”
On Wednesday, Dec. 25, the actor, 45, who in December announced that he and his girlfriend Shannon are expecting their first baby together.
