Emily Hampshire has nothing but love for her fellow Schitt’s Creek alums on their big night.
PEOPLE caught up with the actress, 43, at Gold House and Macro’s One House Toast to the Emmys on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Maybourne Beverly Hills, where she shared her excitement about Eugene and Dan Levy hosting the 76th Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 15.
“I am so excited about this,” Hampshire told PEOPLE exclusively. “I actually think they will be some of the best Emmys hosts ever, the two of them combined. So I’m really looking forward to it.”
The comedy, about a wealthy family who had to rebuild their lives in a fictional small town called Schitt’s Creek after losing everything, ran for 80 episodes from 2015 to 2020. As in real life, Eugene and Dan portrayed a father, Johnny Rose, and son, David Rose. Hampshire played Stevie, the owner of the motel that the once-rich Rose family had to move into following their change in circumstances.
The show was a fan favorite before amassing critical success in its later seasons, including sweeping all four acting categories and winning outstanding comedy series at the 72nd Emmy Awards in 2020.
Since then, there have been rumors of a revival or big-screen return, which Hampshire addressed.
“We would all love to come back. We didn’t want it to end, it was just the right ending. We’ll never do the show again, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we did something like a movie,” she told PEOPLE at Thursday’s event.

When asked where she thought Stevie would be — perhaps a hotel magnate — Hampshire gave it some thought and replied, “I don’t know!”
“I think that’s what’s taken so long to do something. It’s like, ‘What are the stories?’ One time I did have a dream that Stevie was pregnant and I told Dan that and he was like, ‘Maybe that’s what’s going to happen.’ I don’t know!” she said.
Since Schitt’s Creek, Hampshire has starred in Chapelwaite, The Rig and even made a cameo appearance on The Real Housewives of New York City.
