PEOPLE has an exclusive sneak peek at forthcoming children’s book Gilmore Girls: Goodnight, Stars Hollow written by Morgan English and illustrated by Vivian Mineker inspired by the beloved TV series. The board book will be published by Insight Kids this summer, in collaboration with Warner Brothers, in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary.
Gilmore Girls, which aired on the WB and the CW from 2000 to 2007, follows mother and daughter Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), and their lives in the quirky fictional town of Stars Hollow, Ct.

In Goodnight, Stars Hollow, which features full-color illustrations by Vivian Mineker, readers of all ages will get to see favorite characters like Miss Patty, Luke, Sookie and the town troubadour as they close down for the night and prepare for bed.
The book will also feature some of the show’s iconic locations, like Miss Patty’s dance studio, Al’s Pancake World, Gypsy’s garage and the Stars Hollow gazebo.

“Fans and parents can share their love of this iconic mother-daughter sitcom with this board book told in rhyming verse that they can enjoy with young readers as they drift off to sleep,” reads a statement from Insight Kids shared with PEOPLE.
Goodnight, Stars Hollow follows 2023’s Gilmore Girls: At Home in Stars Hollow, also published by Insight Kids. The book follows Rory and Lorelai as they take a walk around town and reminisce on their favorite memories.

A handful of Gilmore Girls stars have also published their own books. In 2024, Kelly Bishop, who played the show’s matriarch Emily Gilmore, released her memoir The Third Gilmore Girl, which details her time on the series. Graham is also a prolific writer, and has published multiple fiction and nonfiction titles, including the 2016 memoir Talking As Fast As I Can.
Gilmore Girls: Goodnight, Stars Hollow will be published on July 8 and is now available for preorder, wherever books are sold.
