Comedian Nikki Glaser is hitting pause on potential plastic surgery in favor of a career boost, as she prepares to host the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards in January 2025.
During a broadcast with CBS Mornings on Sunday, Dec. 29, Glaser revealed that, before she had found out she would be hosting the awards show, she had been trying to schedule a cosmetic procedure for around the same time as the Golden Globes were set to take place.
“So, for January 2025, I was going to possibly have, like, a brow lift or some kind of really invasive surgery that I’ve been, you know, looking into getting,” Glaser said during the broadcast.
But, after receiving a call from two of her agents, Glaser said she quickly changed her mind about scheduling the procedure for that specific early January date.
“When it’s two,” Glaser said, referring to her agents, “you know it’s good news because when it’s bad news, they just make one person do it ’cause no one wants to do that. And they’re like, ‘So, this operation, is there any way you could push it ’til maybe the second week of January?'”
Back in August, CBS and the Golden Globes announced that the comedian would host the 82nd annual ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025.
Of the honor, Glaser said in a statement: “I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front-row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage).”
Continuing on, Glaser joked about the opportunity: “The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film, but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows, but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God, I hope so).”
Known for her work on Comedy Central Roasts, Glaser’s latest Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe-nominated comedy special, Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die, is now streaming on Max.

Glaser also recently participated in “roasting” Tom Brady, the ex-quarterback for the New England Patriots, during Netflix’s live special, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady in May — alongside host Kevin Hart, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Nikki Glaser, Drew Bledsoe, Randy Moss and Kim Kardashian.
Of the roast, Glaser recently told PEOPLE, “I have a feeling that Gisele wasn’t that happy with what I had said, referring to Brady’s ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
Among other wisecracks at the May 5 special: “Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings — well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back,” she said, referencing their 2022 split.
Glaser now says she debated bringing up Bündchen at all. “I mentioned her in a joke, which I did question because she wasn’t there, and it’s like, ‘She’s not asking for this.’ But then I remembered that she’s the hottest person in the world, and I go, ‘She can probably handle it,’” the FBoy Island host said.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards will air live Sunday, Jan. 5, from 8 to 11 p.m. on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+.
