Lupita Nyong’o spiced up the red carpet at Wednesday’s New York City premiere of A Quiet Place: Day One.
The actress, 41, stars in the A Quiet Place prequel directed by Michael Sarnoski alongside Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O’Hare. To celebrate its highly anticipated release, Nyong’o attended the red carpet dressed in a black sequined jumpsuit with a form-fitting skirt and train.
Her monochromatic look contrasted with costar Joseph Quinn’s cream-colored suit. A deep red lipstick and dangling diamond earrings completed her look.
It’s no surprise that Nyong’o stunned on the red carpet. In a cover interview for the June 2024 issue of Glamour, she said she loves dressing up for an event, regardless of her “hate” for shopping.
“I love red carpets. You get to be Cinderella for a night. My life before the launch of my career did not involve a lot of ball gowns. Now I wear so many, and I love it,” she told the outlet.
A Quiet Place: Day One is also something she was “honored” to participate in the project.
“I was very honored to get offered this role because I think it is a very innovative world that John Krasinski created. And it is a fun world. It’s a very specific world. It’s a tense world,” she told PEOPLE earlier in June. “Like the floor is lava. You commit to that context and you go for it. And you’re asking adults to do this.”
“Imagine a world where you have to stay quiet to survive,” she continued. “It’s exciting to me to be in that kind of hyper-imaginative world.”
Krasinski starred in and directed the first Quiet Place movie in 2018, along with the 2020 sequel. Both films also featured his wife Emily Blunt. He serves as a producer on the third film.
