King Charles Poses in Kilt to Mark the Scottish Burns Night Celebration: Photo ArticlePure

A new photo of King Charles has been released ahead of Burns Night.

The King, 76, is seen sporting a kilt in the official image, which was released by Buckingham Palace on Saturday, Jan. 25, to mark the annual Scottish celebration that honors the birthday and life of Scottish poet Robert Burns.

In the photo, King Charles wears a waistcoat and a suit jacket paired with a kilt made of King Charles III tartan.

He can be seen standing in the library of the Royal Family’s Scottish holiday home of Balmoral in Aberdeenshire.

The new image was shot last fall by beloved royal photographer Millie Pilkington, whom Charles and Queen Camilla have used in the past, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton.
