Kelly Clarkson is baring it all.
During the Friday, April 11 episode of her talk show when Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren stopped by to chat about their Broadway show The Last Five Years, the “Breakaway” singer detailed a major wardrobe malfunction when asking the “SOS” singer about his own.
Clarkson, 42, cuts right to the chase, telling Jonas, 32, that she heard “something happened to your pants in rehearsal.” “I feel like I have a similar story,” she added. “Did your pants split or something?”
Jonas said the day he suffered the wardrobe malfunction, it wound up being their “biggest ticket spike day.” “So I posted this thing on Instagram [in March] where I just talked about, basically we’re in rehearsals, I’m in front of everybody and I jump up on this platform and my pants split.”

Jonas was unaware of the pants’ elasticity and just “went for it” in rehearsal. “Look, whatever sells tickets,” he joked. Clarkson, meanwhile, had her own wardrobe malfunction story to share.
“I had something happen on tour once where my skirt, the clip broke and it dropped, and I dropped so fast,” the “Since U Been Gone” singer began. “Look, long story short, I was commando. And I was like, it was a long skirt, and something happened to where it was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ ”
Warren, 37, was visibly shocked by Clarkson’s confession. “And I was like, the one night I don’t have… And I dropped to the floor like so fast. Picked it up, somebody had to run out,” Clarkson continued, adding that the incident happened in the middle of the show when she was performing.

“It was really unfortunate,” the mother-of-two said, adding that she stepped on glass that same night, but kept singing despite the perfect storm. “It happens though, and you just to keep swimming,” she concluded, apologizing to Jonas about his new pants ripping.
Clarkson has gotten candid about fame and performing in the past. During a March 27 appearance on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, she recalled winning American Idol in 2002 and how it wasn’t as glamorous right away as fans might’ve thought. “After I won Idol, people were like, ‘Oh, she’s a millionaire,’ ” Clarkson said.
“No. I wasn’t. Like, they say ‘million dollar’ contract. No I didn’t. They said I’d get a car. No. I didn’t. Like, I didn’t get any of that.”

The “Because of You” singer called it a “hustle.” “We were playing, like, festivals in the middle of cow s— plugging in all our gear. You know what I’m saying?”
“At 42, it’s still a hustle,” she added.
The Last Five Years is now playing on Broadway at the Hudson Theatre.
