Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie have an epic friendship.
Bush Hager, 43, has co-hosted with more than 30 guests on Jenna & Friends since the show launched in January, but she tells PEOPLE being joined this week by her longtime pal has been extra special.
“I’m having the best time. I just told her, I was like, ‘We can totally talk about that on our show,’ ” Bush Hager says of Guthrie, 53, laughing.

Walking and talking (and glued to each other’s hip) through the Dark Universe world at Universal’s Epic Universe theme park, where all four hours of the Today show broadcast live from on Wednesday, May 21, the two co-anchors can’t seem to help but finish each other’s sentences.
“Jenna has put that show on her shoulders,” Guthrie says proudly. “And we’ve had amazing guest co-hosts, but it’s like speed-dating. It’s someone new every single day.”
“To get to date your real friend—,” Bush Hager starts, before Guthrie finishes, “Is easy. We’ve been dating for years, so it’s easy.”
“It’s just like a blind date that we’ve been on for 10 years,” Bush Hager affirms, before Guthrie adds, “Like an old pair of jeans you put on.”
The comment causes Bush Hager to stop walking and turn to look at her friend. “You just called me an old pair of jeans,” she says, prompting a laugh from Guthrie, who replies, “Well, I thought I was the jeans.”
While at Epic Universe in Orlando, Fla., Bush Hager and Guthrie also took full advantage of the new rides the park has to offer.

“We met Hiccup! And his little dragon friend,” says Guthrie. “Toothless.”
“We loved that one,” confirms Bush Hager.
“I feel like we had a moment with Toothless,” Guthrie teases, before Bush Hager reveals, “We kissed him!”
