Gayle King’s son is continuing his celebration of love after recently tying the knot!
On Tuesday, June 25, the CBS News journalist, 69, couldn’t help but gush over her one and only son William “Will” Bumpus Jr. marrying his now-wife, Elise Smith, earlier this month.
“The @willgb3 & @elisemariesmith wedding celebration continues! They called it WE LOVE cause of their initials and their love,” King captioned a festive Instagram carousel.
Bumpus and Smith said their “I do’s” on June 2, but the love birds have yet to come down from cloud 9.
“The happiest couple on the planet now wanted to celebrate with their friends. Their request? Kicking off the weekend with a good ol fashion dance party with great music,” King added to her post, thanking DJ Suss One and Abbott Elementary’s Janelle James for providing entertainment for the evening.
In the first carousel photo, Bumpus and Smith posed in front of a large floral arrangement outside at the Terranea Resort — an oceanfront escape along California’s Palos Verdes Peninsula. The second slide was a video of the couple being welcomed by their guests.
Also in the upload, King posed for a selfie with actor David Oyelowo and his wife Jessica Oyelowo.
Before the recap concluded, the proud mother shared a video of Bumpus and Smith in more casual clothing, dancing to Beyoncé’s 2011 single, “Love On Top.”
“It was a WOW moment!” King wrote, promising there was “More to come.”
As for the dance portion of the festivities, King previously said on a June 4 episode of CBS Mornings that the official wedding was “strictly for family,” but the couple would have “a big dance party for their friends later on.”
She also revealed that the festivities were held at a very special location, with a very special guest.
“Oprah, of course, was there, ’cause it was at Oprah’s house,” King said, earning laughs from her colleagues. “It’s always nice when she lets us use her house … the prices are very reasonable.”
In photos of the big day shared exclusively with PEOPLE, the newlyweds posed on the beach wearing matching slides with images of their engagement photos printed on them.
There was also a photo from later in the evening of Bumpus twirling his mother around the dance floor.

And of course there was more dancing from the bride and groom — who were seen in another Instagram post from King partying to Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You” with the rest of their guests while musician Moses Lin played guitar. Another video showed Bumpus and Smith dancing to Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.”
“The night ended with an impromptu dance party in a room that didn’t have a dance floor! Black people always find a way—especially my family AND @moseslinmusic at the controls ! ????,” King wrote.
