Elyse Myers Reveals ‘That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You’ (Exclusive) ArticlePure

  • Tiktok star and content creator Elyse Myers is releasing her first book
  • The book will feature stories, poems and hand-drawn illustrations from the viral ‘Worst Date Ever’ content creator
  • That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You comes out this fall

Anyone who knows the name Elyse Myers — and that’s a lot of us, judging by her 12 million social media followers — also knows her catchphrase.

And now it’s also the title of her new book, which will share even more of the intimate reflections, relatable cringeworthy stories and neurodivergence advocacy with her legions of loyal fans.

That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You hits shelves this fall from William Morrow, and will cover such topics as: spending 7 Minutes in Heaven accidentally friend-zoning your crush, accidentally entangling with a French gigolo on a semester abroad, moving from California to Australia to Texas to Nebraska, the “meat cute” when she met her smoke-show husband at an Australian butcher’s counter, plus “the tempting-yet-futile urge to reinvent yourself, panic attacks and escape hatches, favorite pens and systems to use them and loving and letting yourself be loved, preferably at the same time,” according to an official synopsis.

For the uninitiated, Myers is a writer, comedian and content creator best known for sharing relatable stories, comedic sketches and serving as an advocate for neurodivergence, imposter syndrome, body image and more — often several of those at the same time. Her funny and relatable stories and uncanny way of giving voice to that internal monologue that narrates so many of our days has made her beloved across the Internet.

“She has three simple goals behind everything she makes: To make people feel known, loved and like they belong,” her publisher says. “She hopes that by sharing her authentic and unfiltered self with the world, others will feel comfortable doing the same.”

That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You is a deeply personal collection of short stories, poems, oddly specific memories and my own hand-drawn illustrations,” Myers tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.

“I’ve been writing my whole life, but this book is by far the most vulnerable and creatively fulfilling project I’ve ever taken on. (Also — a HUGE dream come true! Young Elyse is absolutely screaming as I hold my very first book in my hands after working on it for the last two years!),” she continues.

“The stories are funny and sometimes downright ridiculous — but they’re also tender, earnest and incredibly human. I hope readers see pieces of themselves within the pages of this book and are reminded that sometimes the most remarkable parts of life are the ones we often overlook!”
