Welcome back to the Valley!
On Tuesday, April 15, season 2 of The Valley picked up nearly nine months after Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor separated.
“It’s not going well,” Jay, 45, said in a confessional interview. “She’s in a rental and we’re allowed to date other people. I mean, it’s so toxic. It’s so broken.”
Jax told Jesse Lally that Brittany, 36, texted him saying, “I really want to work on our marriage,” but when Jax saw a sexy video that Brittany sent another man, he freaked out.
“I thought that we might be heading in the right direction and be able to work on our marriage but then all hell broke loose,” Brittany told the cameras. “That completely changed everything.”
Brittany explained to Michelle Saniei exactly what happened after Jax came across a text exchange between her and his friend Julien on the iPad their son Cruz, 4, uses.
“He flipped the coffee table and it hit my knee. It turned black immediately,” Brittany alleged. “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ I’m like, screaming crying. It was terrifying.”

The Kentucky native claimed Jax accused her of cheating, despite the fact that they’d agreed to see other people after separating. “He’s been hooking up with girls,” Brittany pointed out. “He’s been publicly parading himself around with girls.”
Brittany told Michelle that Jax’s rage had gotten “so much worse” and she didn’t want to let Cruz be around Jax by himself. “He needs to stop partying so hard because those are the worst fights ever, absolute horrible days,” she continued.
In a confessional interview, Jax confirmed, “We did say we could hook up with other people, that was part of the deal. But a friend? Come on. Julian and I were friends. We were hanging out all the time. Meanwhile, she’s still hooking up with him and I had no idea.”

Jax confessed to Jesse, 44, that he “went full f—— unhinged rage” on Brittany. “That’s the worst it’s ever gotten,” the Vanderpump Rules alum admitted.
Jesse advised Jax to “put Cruz first in every thought you have,” and Jax acknowledged, “What I did was wrong. I lost all control.”
Later in the episode, Jax met up with former VPR costar Tom Schwartz, who expressed concern about Jax’s behavior.
“I’ve never seen you so high strung,” Tom 42, said to Jax.

Tom said Brittany told him she doesn’t feel comfortable being alone with Jax. As a result, Jax insisted that “another guy infiltrated our marriage,” but at the same time, he claimed Brittany came over the other night and they almost hooked up.
“You’re headed towards rock bottom with your recent behavior,” Tom said to Jax. “And I feel like if you don’t seek some sort of help, some sort of counseling, I don’t know, therapy…”
Jax knew Tom had a point. “Such a bad place, man,” the In the Mind of a Man podcast host said. “Going home to an empty house, I f—— hate it. I walk past my child’s room. Uh, God. I’m 45 f——years old, what is wrong with me?”
Jax has since spent 30 days in an in-patient treatment facility for mental health and revealed that he has substance issues with cocaine. In March, Jax announced that he was 83 days sober from cocaine and alcohol.
