What the Stars Will Eat and Drink After the 2025 Oscars ArticlePure

The stars will be out this Sunday at the 97th Academy Awards — and at its iconic after-party, the Oscars Governors Ball.

For the 66th year, Oscar winners, nominees and presenters alike will have the chance to eat, drink and party in the gold-tinged Ray Dolby Ballroom on the top level of Ovation Hollywood following the ceremony. The likes of Timothée Chalamet, Zoe Saldaña, Colman Domingo, Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande will enjoy delicious food from Wolfgang Puck and Eric Klein, pastries from Kamel Guechida and Garry Larduinat, premium cocktails and other exclusive beverages.

“We have a great menu and we know everybody’s really hungry,” Puck, 75, told reporters on Tuesday at an event previewing what will be Wolfgang Puck Catering’s 31st year cooking for the Governors Ball.

Which dishes are attendees’ favorites at the annual soirée? “For me it’s all about innovation but also tradition,” said the chef. “If I don’t make the chicken pot pie, I probably won’t get hired again. I remember when Barbra Streisand told me one day she had the chicken pot pie and she was coming back the next year. She said, ‘Wolfgang, are you going to make the chicken pot pie then?’ I said, ‘For you, I make anything.’ ”

Fans of Puck’s cacio e pepe macaroni and cheese will also be delighted to see that dish return. Same goes for the smoked salmon dish, served as always on an Oscar statuette-shaped matzoh cracker. That’s not to be confused with Puck’s chocolate Oscars — guests can decorate their statuette-shaped treats (dark chocolate, milk chocolate or yuzu and strawberry) at a gold spraying station.

Also for dessert will be assorted cookies, barks, bonbons, an apple strudel and ice cream sundaes made to order. A new piña colada éclair, again shaped just like the Oscar silhouette, is one of several patisserie delicacies guests can try, while new savory dishes from Puck’s team include potato pave with steak tartare and a wild mushroom and pea shumai.

Complementing this eye-popping gastronomic menu are several beverage options: champagne from Lallier, cocktails from Tequila Don Julio, wines from Clarendelle and Domaine Clarence Dillon and — for the first time — Dassai sake, from Japanese brand Asahi Shuzo.

“We are very honored to be the champagne served at the Governor’s Ball this year,” Anne-Louise Marquis, brand ambassador for Champagne Lallier, told reporters. “When we think about champagne, we think about celebration, but we also think about craft, terroir, people telling a story. And that so beautifully ties to the mission of the Academy and the mission of this event.”

Returning for their eighth year at the event is Tequila Don Julio, with mixologist Charles Joly providing some of his acclaimed cocktails. On offer will be one of their newer tequilas, called Alma Miel, in the Standing Ovation, an espresso cocktail with Cremant du Limoux-fig syrup and smoked salt water. Meanwhile, signature drinks include the Golden Age Gimlet (featuring Don Julio Blanco, pineapple and lime juice and vanilla syrup) and The Class Act (with mint-infused Tequila Don Julio 1942, lemon juice, simple syrup and milk).

For the third consecutive year, Clarendelle and the family company Domaine Clarence Dillon serve as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s official wine partner — which Prince Robert of Luxembourg, the company’s president and CEO, called “an honor” in a release announcing the partnership. The Governors Ball offerings, including two reds, two whites and an amber wine, is “a natural extension of my family’s longstanding commitment and deep connection to film and the arts,” the prince added.
