Ree Drummond is celebrating a new addition to the family!

The Pioneer Woman star’s daughter, Alex Drummond Scott welcomed her daughter, Sofia Marie, with husband Mauricio Scott on Wednesday, Dec. 18. And Drummond, 55, couldn’t be happier about becoming a grandma!

“Our first baby had her first baby. Thank you Lord, we will never be the same,” she captioned a beautiful snap of herself cradling the hours-old tot in the hospital alongside her husband Ladd. The Food Network star also added a red love heart emoji.

The photo shows Ree and Ladd, also 55, gazing adoringly at little Sofia Marie, who is tightly swaddled in a white footprint-patterned muslin and wearing a white hat with a red bow on her head. 

The heartwarming image is accompanied by the tune “Grandpa” by The Judds, a nod to new grandfather Ladd.

Ree also shared some posts on her Instagram Stories, asking her 4.3 million followers, “Would you like to see more pics of Sofia? (Say yes, pls),” and directing them to her blog post about Sofia’s arrival.

She then shared an adorable close-up of a sleeping baby Sofia all wrapped up like a Christmas gift with a red bow on her head, captioning it, “On a side note…How is it that hospital swaddling blankets have this same foot pattern from 30 years ago?” alongside a crying with laughter emoji.

The previous day, Alex had shared the exciting news that Christmas had come early for the Drummonds, with a beautiful gallery of black-and-white snaps of her new arrival. 

“At 2:27am our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed,” 27-year-old Alex’s caption read. “Thank you Lord.”

Foodie Ree also expressed her excitement at Sofia’s arrival via her Pioneer Woman website, revealing that she was “exploding with happiness.”

Ree’s post shared intimate details of baby Sofia’s arrival, saying that she and Ladd had arrived at the hospital just as Alex was transitioning into active labor. 

She also revealed that Mauricio was an a wonderful support to Alex as she delivered the baby. “What a gift to Ladd and me, for Alex to have a partner in life who demonstrates his love through such clear action,” Ree wrote.

The star concluded her heartwarming post by calling her new granddaughter “perfect.” 

“Thank you, God, for Alex and Mauricio, and for my beautiful granddaughter Sofia Marie Scott.”
