Travis Barker has been working on a special new project.
On Tuesday, June 18, the Blink-182 drummer, 48, launched his new “run and wellness experience” Run Travis Run — and his wife Kourtney Kardashian Barker, 45, played a key part in the announcement.
“Run Travis, run!” the Poosh founder said while waving to her husband from the sidelines as he recreated the famous running scene from Forrest Gump. Her line referenced “Run Forrest, run!” from the hit 1994 movie.
In the clip, which was shared on the couple’s Instagram Stories, Barker put on a red cap similar to the one Tom Hanks wore as he ran across the U.S. playing Gump.

One social media user commented on Kardashian’s “southern drawl” in the video and wrote,”Jenny!” in a nod to Forrest’s childhood friend and later wife in the film, played by Robin Wright.
In a message shared on the project’s website, Barker explained that running helped him after he was involved in a traumatic 2008 plane crash, which killed four people and left him with third-degree burns on more than half his body.
“After my accident in 2008 more than 70% of my body was burnt and I was told by doctors that I may never be able to walk or play drums the same again. I was never athletic and I never played sports but I immediately had this urge to prove everyone wrong including myself,” the musician wrote.

“It started off with short walks and then that turned into short runs everyday. I felt this sense of calmness and a rush of dopamine every time I ran. I’ve kept this up for years now, and I always start my day with it. I even run 3 miles everyday before my shows when I’m on tour,” Barker added.
“This past year I ran my first half marathon and participated in a few 5k’s. I loved how everyone from all walks of life ran together and supported one another,” he continued. “The running community is massive and it really inspired me to create Run Travis Run as a way to bring like minded people together. I wanna motivate people to get outside and walk or run for a few hours, as well as make healthy decisions and create healthy habits.”
“This is what Run Travis Run is built off of and we are just getting started,” Barker concluded, with Kardashian resharing the message on her Instagram Stories.
“You are so inspiring,” the reality star wrote, adding a red love heart emoji.
“I just felt like running… come run with me!!!” Barker wrote on Instagram, adding details about the first two events; one in Los Angeles on July 6, and another in Queens, New York on July 21.
Back in 2017, Barker told Runner’s World that he credited running for helping him in all aspects of his life. “I just love running. It makes me feel like I can conquer anything that comes at me,” Barker said. “I’m never tapped out.”
