Things may not have worked out for Aaron Erb and Jenn Tran, but he isn’t giving up on Bachelor Nation just yet.
In an interview with PEOPLE following the Men Tell All special, Aaron says he doesn’t know what his next move is going to be, but he wouldn’t be opposed to continuing on in the Bachelor franchise. After the first two cast members of the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise were announced, Aaron says he’d take a spot on the popular show.
“I think I’m hopeful for wherever life takes me,” he says. “So if they give me the Bachelor In Paradise nod, given I have availability of my schedule, I would love to be on it. I think it’s an opportunity to find someone really special.”
He notes that “it did work for Noah, my twin,” who was originally on Clare Crawley’s season 16 of The Bachelorette and went on to find his now-wife Abigail Heringer on BiP.
“I’m open to the process and I believe in the process, so I think it would fit me, my style and just my personality a lot better in that environment,” Aaron adds. “So we’ll see where it goes, but I’m open to it.”
Thinking about who in Bachelor Nation he might go for now that he is single again, Aaron reveals “there’s a few I could think about” but wouldn’t share much more.
“Let’s just say I’ve DM’d a couple,” he teases. “It was more of like, it was a mutual [friend], but I’m not going to name any names. If they were there [with me in Paradise], I’d be really excited.”
Aaron was in hot water during the Men Tell All special with several of the contestants coming after him for giving Devin a self-growth book during an argument earlier in the season. He says he stands by his decision, pointing out that his twin gave him the book and he found it helpful.
“I’ve read that book a lot,” he says. “That really started me on my journey of self-discovery. It honestly changed my life. It’s a short read — it’s something I brought because it has some very easy lessons to learn. I didn’t bring a book to intend to give it away.”
“I feel like it was the right move and put myself in someone else’s shoes, [asking myself], ‘How can I care about someone in that moment?’” he continues. “So it was funny how much attention it got.”
Noah, who was on the receiving end of a similar situation when he was on The Bachelorette, wasn’t as quick to defend Aaron’s actions.
“We were in the womb together, but I don’t think the book’s the move,” he said to Aaron. “I don’t think anybody should tell somebody that they are or aren’t ready. We’ve all got our own journey.”
