Starbucks Adds Iced Energy Drinks with Iced Tea to the Permanent Menu ArticlePure

Starbucks is introducing a whole new portfolio of iced drinks.

On June 25, the coffee chain announced a handful of fun (and permanent!) menu items to kick off summer, including iced energy beverages.

The energy drinks come in two flavors: Melon Burst and Tropical Citrus Iced Energy. According to a press release, they “combine sparkling fruit flavors and iced tea for a cool burst of sugar-free energy.”

The Melon Burst features melon and cucumber flavors mixed with passion tango tea, and it contains 205mg of caffeine. Per the release, the amount is “similar to a grande Starbucks cold brew.”

The Tropical Citrus Iced Energy blends passionfruit and citrus flavors and is mixed with “mint-tinted” green tea. Containing 180mg of caffeine, it’s slightly less jolted with energy than the former.

Starbucks rewards members get an extra flavor to try. The Frozen Tropical Citrus Iced Energy with Strawberry Puree is exclusively available in the app for a limited time. It’s made with passionfruit and citrus flavors and swirled with strawberry puree.

The iced energy drinks are only available in a venti size (20 ounces).

Lucky for Starbucks fans, the energy drinks aren’t the only new items for the season. Starbucks is also introducing a new non-dairy vanilla sweet cream and non-dairy vanilla sweet cream cold brew to the permanent menu. They both include soy milk and oat milk.

Starbucks’ other new drink is perfect for coffee lovers with a sweet tooth. The caramel vanilla swirl iced coffee is made with a blend of both classic flavors.

As for food, the egg, pesto and mozzarella sandwich and the blueberry streusel muffin are two of the brand’s latest flavor innovations.

To round out the summer pick-me-up news, Starbucks is offering rewards members a buy one get one free offer on June 28 from noon to 6 p.m. local time.

The company has had plenty of other exciting news over the last few months. In May, Starbucks released three new, bright blue drinks on its summer menu. Each of the fruit-forward drinks are made with a “sweet and summery blend of raspberry, blueberry and blackberry,” per a press release.

Also in May, Starbucks splashed into summer with some colorful new reusable cups.
