Shannen Doherty claims her income will “dramatically decrease” after Charmed disappears from streaming services later this month.
According to paperwork filed on Friday, June 14 in Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star is requesting spousal support from estranged husband Kurt Iswarienko amid the couple’s divorce and her ongoing battle with cancer.
The actress is requesting Iswarienko pay $15,434 per month, retroactive to June 1, 2024, and contribute $9,100 to her attorney’s fees and costs.
In the filing, Doherty, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, says that because of “recurrent health issues,” she has been unable to work and has “no future employment prospects.”
After going into remission in 2017, the 53-year-old actress revealed in February 2020 that the cancer had returned, and late last year, she told PEOPLE that it had spread to her bones. Last week’s filing states that she has not worked since 2022.
As a result, Doherty says in the filing, “Today, virtually all of the income I earn is residual income from work that I performed prior to marriage.”
“I recently learned that Charmed will no longer be streaming on any major streaming platform after June 30, 2024,” she says in the filing. “As a result, my future residual income will dramatically decrease.”
Doherty says her inability to work will also cause her to lose her SAG health insurance, leading to an increase in her medical expenses, which she claimed came to over $21,000 last year. She says her year-to-date income is $25,732.
“Although Kurt’s income is substantially more than mine, he has not made any temporary spousal support payments and has made no contributions to my attorneys’ or accounting fees and costs since the time our divorce action was filed,” Doherty says in the filing.
She adds, “Kurt has similarly refused to produce basic information about his 2023 income. Accordingly, my attorneys will file a Motion to Compel to obtain this information.”
Doherty says she helped Iswarienko, a photographer, “get his finances in order” during their marriage. “I know the value of his photography business because he consulted me on a regular basis and my help was invaluable,” she says.
Doherty claims in the filing that while she is “incurring exorbitant medical expenses not covered by insurance to undergo experimental treatments in hopes of prolonging my life,” she alleges that Iswarienko has been “spending thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci” while “claiming that he has insufficient funds with which to support me.”
PEOPLE has reached out to Iswarienko’s rep for comment.
Doherty filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April 2023 after 11 years of marriage.
Late last year, on an episode of her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, the Charmed star spoke about her split.
“At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart,” Doherty said.
The actress was previously married to Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994, and Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003.
