Selena Gomez has a new album on the horizon!

The singer-actress surprised fans on Thursday, Feb. 13, announcing that she and fiancé Benny Blanco worked on a new album together, I Said I Love You First. The album, which is set to release on Friday, March 21, is Gomez and Blanco’s first project together as a couple.

The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in December 2024, after dating for over a year.

In her Instagram post, the Only Murders in the Building star wrote: “I always trick you guys ?. my NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 ?.”

The actress, 32, continued: “Our first song, ‘Scared of Loving You,’ is out now on all streaming platforms. Merchandise and signed products for the album are available for pre-order now. We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!”

Blanco, 36, then sweetly replied in the comment section and added: “i love you baby.”

The first single from Gomez’s fourth studio album is titled “Scared of Loving You,” and dropped on Thursday — with a visual lyric video.

The new track was written by the couple and 8-time Grammy winner Finneas; both Blanco and Finneas produced the new single.

Meanwhile, the upcoming album celebrates Gomez and Blanco’s love story and gives “fans a unique window into their relationship,” per the press release.

“This album came together organically as a direct result of the comfort that they both felt when working together creatively, allowing them to produce art that authentically reflects their experiences,” read the press release. “It chronicles their entire story—before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds.”

Before their engagement and now upcoming album, the pair were musical collaborators. Blanco co-produced two songs, “Kill Em with Kindness” and “Same Old Love,” on Gomez’s 2015 album Revival.

They also collaborated on the 2019 song “I Can’t Get Enough,” featuring Tainy and J Balvin. In the music video, Gomez shared a scene with Blanco where she’s dressed in pajamas and he’s dressed as a big teddy bear. Most recently, in August 2023, they worked together on her song “Single Soon.”

In January 2024, the Emilia Perez star revealed on the SmartLess podcast that she was ready for another album. “I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting,” Gomez said.

“I am going to want to chill because I’m tired. I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else,” she added.

Just one year later, in January 2025, Blanco teased on TikTok that he and Gomez were working on new music.
