Meg Ryan is having some one-on-one time with daughter Daisy.
The What Happens Later star, 62, and her younger child were photographed out and about in New York City’s SoHo and Tribeca neighborhoods on Wednesday, Aug. 28, when they appeared to be doing some shopping, judging from the white shopping bag in Ryan’s hand.
Mother and daughter were both dressed in casual-chic attire, with Ryan in a white top with the sleeves rolled up and loose-fitting black slacks and shoes. Daisy opted for a white button-up with a colorful print tucked into high-waisted belted blue jeans and white sneakers.
Wednesday marked a rare sighting of Ryan and her daughter, who was born in China in 2004 and adopted by the actress in early 2006. Ryan is also mom to actor son Jack Quaid, 32.

Appearing on the cover of Glamour in December 2023, Ryan opened up about What Happens Later, which she also co-wrote, sharing that she made the decision to add in some personal touches when it came to her character, Willa.
One of those decisions? To add an adoption story to Willa’s background, which is a subject close to Ryan’s heart due to Daisy’s story.
“I put that in there because my daughter is my daughter,” she told the outlet. “I’m convinced of magic because of our relationship. We were destined.”
The proud mom also raved about Daisy tackling her first year of college, where she was pushing herself to succeed and also enjoying her hobbies, which include design, sewing and tailoring. Ryan has even let her daughter tackle some pieces from her own closet.
“I’m just so happy to know them, to be their mom,” the actress told Glamour of Daisy and Jack, the latter of whom she shares with ex-husband Dennis Quaid.

In an October 2023 cover story conversation with PEOPLE, Ryan opened up about parenthood, sharing how being a mother of two has been a joyful experience.
“I have two of the greatest kids,” said the You’ve Got Mail actress. “They’re just a blast. It is just a true joy.”
Added Ryan of The Boys star Jack and Daisy, “It is a joy to me to know both of them.”
Of course, getting there required a “fundamental shift,” with the longtime actress, director and producer acknowledging that becoming a mother “instantly makes you not the most important person in the room.”
