Marilyn Manson is honoring Ozzy Osbourne.
On Thursday, July 31, the musician shared a sweet message for his “beloved friend” on Instagram Stories following the Black Sabbath frontman’s death on July 22 at age 76.
“Today we laid to rest a beloved friend,” Manson, 56, he began the post. “I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life Ozzy. Your inspiration and love will always be with me.”
He concluded: “Thank you Sharon and family for a reverent beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on.”

The Prince of Darkness’ loved ones said their goodbyes on Wednesday, July 30, as they attended Ozzy’s funeral procession in the city of Birmingham, England. Fans also gathered in his beloved hometown to say farewell to the late rocker.
Ozzy’s cortege and family went to Broad Street, where the Black Sabbath bridge and bench became a public memorial to the “War Pigs” artist with flowers, photos and notes.
The procession, which featured a hearse and other vehicles, featured a live brass band performance by Bostin’ Brass — local, Birmingham musicians — who performed “Iron Man.”
At the Black Sabbath bridge, the procession stopped and the family, including Ozzy’s grandchildren, got out to view the tributes for around five minutes, per footage from the BBC.
At the time, Ozzy’s tearful wife Sharon Osbourne was comforted by daughter Kelly Osbourne, who held her hand. His daughter Aimee Osbourne and sons Jack Osbourne and Louis Osbourne were also by their side as they viewed the tributes.
Before laying their own floral tributes, the family – clad in black — held up peace signs to the cheering crowd of fans, with Sharon being supported by Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39.
In July, a source told PEOPLE that they were planning to have a “small, private funeral” for Ozzy, in addition to public memorial and tribute concert in the future.
“They’re very grateful for the special family time they had together before Ozzy passed. They’re planning a small, private funeral that will be a celebration of his life,” the source said at the time. “Ozzy would never want a mope-fest.”
The source also noted that Osbourne’s family has been “touched by all the love and support pouring in from around the world.”
When Ozzy died on July 22, the Osbourne family shared a statement with PEOPLE about his death.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” it read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
In the weeks prior to his death, Ozzy performed from a throne at the Black Sabbath farewell concert on July 5 in Birmingham.
