The FBI is looking for a man who robbed a bank — with a child in tow.
The Dallas division of the FBI has asked the public for help identifying the man who pulled off a bank robbery in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 6, according to a press release.
According to officials, the suspected robber entered the First Convenience Bank branch located inside a Walmart with a child seated in a shopping cart. He then went up to a bank teller counter and “presented” them with a note “demanding cash.”
“After obtaining a known amount of U.S. currency, the subject pushed the child and shopping cart toward the exit, then continued fleeing from the location while carrying the small child,” the FBI said in the release.
The suspected robber is described as a “white male” between the ages of 35 and 45 years old, with a height of 5’7″ to 5’9″ and a “thin build.” The FBI said that he was wearing a multicolored fishing shirt, khaki-colored cargo shorts and HeyDude shoes. He had also been wearing a baseball hat and black sunglasses.
Several Fort Worth residents reacted with shock to hearing the news about the bank robbery. Flora Chavez, a Fort Worth resident who shopped at the same Walmart, told NBC’s local affiliate station, “There’s no reason to include a child [in a crime].”
“That must say a lot about that person,” Chavez continued. “Who would want to put their child in that type of position?”

Another resident, Shirley Ingram, told the outlet that she also had been surprised to hear the news, saying, “It just stunned me.”
“I mean to think of that poor little baby, to be connected with something like that,” she said. “But she’s too young to really know what’s going on.”
Ingram added that she thought the bank robber probably used the child to his advantage in the situation, despite putting the child in harm’s way.
“He probably thought if anyone was going to shoot, he would think of that little girl in his arms, so I think he was kind of using her as a shield,” she said.
Walmart did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the incident.
The FBI asked that anyone with information on the case call FBI Dallas at 972-559-5000 or submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov.
