Machine Gun Kelly is getting candid about his relationship with alcohol — and disclosing that he spent time in a rehab facility last year.
During an appearance on Bunnie Xo’s podcast Dumb Blonde on Monday, Aug. 5, the “Emo Girl” musician, 34, opened up about his struggles with both mental health and alcohol abuse, revealing in the episode that he is “completely sober from everything.”
“I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drank since last August,” MGK, born Colson Baker, said. “That was my first time I ever went to rehab.”
MGK says he previously abused alcohol, marijuana and pills such as hydrocodone, Percocet and Vyvanse.
Later in the episode, the musician also shared his appreciation for his partner Megan Fox, 38, whom he said was instrumental to his recovery.
“Megan has for sure been extremely helpful in dealing with the kind of psychological withdrawals that come with getting off drugs,” MGK said.
“I continue to embrace that this journey is gonna be hard for me, but I accept it and forgive myself, he explained. “I’m also really hard on myself, very self-deprecating. I’m just happy that I’m able to start to be comfortable enough to show people who I am because I kind of depended on my art to do that.”

The pair also spoke about MGK’s recent collaboration with Bunnie’s husband Jelly Roll, titled “Lonely Road,” recalling how both she and Fox appeared in the music video alongside “KellyRoll,” as they’ve dubbed themselves.
According to Bunnie, she recently had challenged the musician to a drinking contest against Jelly, one night after they had wrapped filming on the “Lonely Road” music video — without knowing he was sober.
“It just kills me because I just know I would have f—ing drank that man under the table,” MGK joked, to laughs from Bunnie.
“When we were shooting ‘Lonely Road’ … [Jelly Roll] rented out the bowling alley and the drinks kept coming,” Baker continued. “That was probably the second night in this process that I’ve had where I’ve ever just been looking [at the drinks]. And it was probably just from that place of ego where I was just like, ‘Jelly, I just wanna drink you under the table.'”
“Then we showed up to set the same time the next day,” he finished the story with a joke. “I saw his condition and I saw mine and I was like, ‘Eh, I made the right choice.'”
