As the summer heat is ramping up around the country, it’s the perfect time for an ice-cold smoothie — and with National Smoothie Day on Friday, June 21 chains around the country are offering plenty of cheap ways to celebrate and cool off.

In honor of the holiday, Jamba is selling 16 ounce smoothies for $1 in two different flavors: Mango-a-Go-Go and Strawberry Whirl Smoothie. To enjoy the deal, head into a Jamba location between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time on June 21 — online orders and drive-thru don’t apply.

Jamba is also featuring a handful of new flavors for the summer. Watermelon Lemonade and Watermelon Tajin smoothies will be available through the beginning of September, or as long as they last.

A number of other popular smoothie spots will have enticing offers for National Smoothie Day as well — in most cases you do need to be a rewards member though.

Planet Smoothie is handing out free 20 ounce Lunar Lemonade smoothies from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday. One free smoothie per customer will be available for all in-store orders.

At Smoothie King, in addition to their regularly scheduled Free Upsize Friday (which is a free upgrade from a 20 ounce size to a 32 ounce), Healthy Rewards members visiting the chain on Friday will get triple points on any order and be automatically entered into a $5,000 sweepstakes celebrating National Smoothie Day.

Smoothie King also has a series of deals for their members leading up to the holiday. On Wednesday, June 19, the chain is giving away free 12 oz. Blueberry Lemonade smoothies to all in-store customers enrolled in Healthy Rewards, and on Thursday, June 20 all members will get 15% off any order in honor of the first day of summer.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe fans will be to cash in on their loyalty, too — all Tropic Rewards members will get a free 24 oz. smoothie of their choice with any food purchase.

Similarly, Playa Bowls is handing out free color-changing cups with any smoothie order, but only to its Playa Rewards members.

With the summer solstice on Thursday, June 20, smoothies aren’t the only deals to pay attention to this week: Krispy Kreme is giving out a dozen glazed donuts for $1 on the solstice, along with several other offers.

The supermarket chain Kroger is handing out 45,000 free pints of ice cream on the longest day of the year, too.
