Caitlin Clark is celebrating her boyfriend Connor McCaffery on his birthday — with a little joke too for good measure!

The WNBA star, 22, posted a tribute to Instagram for McCaffery’s 26th birthday on Saturday, July 13 and began with a sweet message noting some of his best qualities.

“Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy 🙂 thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life? ,” Clark wrote. The Indiana Fever player then concluded with a joke for the fellow basketball player, who, like his girlfriend, previously played for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

“May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me 😉 Love you always ??.”

McCaffery, 26, who works in the NBA as an assistant for the Indiana Pacers, played along in the comments.

“And I’ll keep letting you win those shooting contests!!!!!” he playfully wrote in response.

Clark’s sweet post included a carousel of black and white photos showing the couple sharing candid moments together.

The the first shot, the WMBA star sat on her boyfriend’s lap as they laughed together on a couch, while in another, McCaffery hugged her on a basketball court while the Indiana Fever star was in uniform. The couple also posed together in a mirror selfie — in which Clark wore a crop top and combat pants, while her boyfriend sported a dark t-shirt and white pants — in another image.

The final selfie snap showed McCaffery kissing the back of Clark’s head as she pursed her lips and posed for the camera.

The couple began dating in April 2023, and McCaffery posted his own tribute to Clark on Instagram to mark their first anniversary in April this year.

“One year w the best ?? doing life w u has been easy, and you never cease to amaze me.. can’t wait to watch u live out ur dreams in person ?? love you ??,” he captioned the post, which featured one of the same photos that his girlfriend included in her birthday tribute to him on July 13.

The same day, Clark also celebrated the milestone on her own social media, with a post honoring McCaffery.

“One year of the best mems w my fav person ? you make everyday better and I can’t wait for many more adventures together… love you ???,” Clark wrote in the caption of her anniversary Instagram post.

The couple first took their relationship Instagram offical in August 2023, when Clark posted several photos of herself and McCaffery cuddled up together on a boat, captioning it, “Best end to summer.”
