Bad Bunny Wants to Return to the WWE Ring ArticlePure

Bad Bunny is ready to re-enter the ring.

In an interview with Rolling Stone published on Monday, Jan. 13, the Grammy winner, 30, said he’s prepared to return to the WWE ring despite his mother Lysaurie Ocasio’s concerns.

The 30-year-old Grammy winner said he wants to compete again — even after his four previous appearances.

“I want to do it one more time,” Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, told Rolling Stone. “I want to put my life at risk in the ring. I felt like I didn’t risk it enough in the ring, and I want to do it. I want to scare my mother. When? I don’t know.”

“We stay in contact with the people at WWE, we’re always paying attention to what’s going on. But when, I don’t know,” he continued. “I hope there’s a time where I can really get ready, like I did the last few times. And I’d love to take more time to get ready physically.”

“But man, just like in music, I do this to get better and to do something different. Sometimes, I say, ‘I’m going to quit everything and just do wrestling full time,’ ” the “La Canción” singer said.

“I feel like in wrestling, I just go sporadically as a celebrity. I’m going to go full time and be a heel. That’s what I’d love. [Laughs.] I was always a fan of the villains more than the good guys.”

The Puerto Rican-born singer also said it was “nice” to bring WWE to Puerto Rico in 2023. “Man, I actually feel like it was good for them and for everyone, because I saw that last year Backlash was in France, now it’s going to Mexico,” he said. “They saw that it worked.”

The “Mónaco” musician made his WWE debut in February 2021, when he competed and won the WWE 24/7 championship against Akira Tozawa.

He earned another go-around in August 2021 during the WWE WrestleMania 37. He and WWE pro Damien Priest won a match against Michael Gregory Mizanin, also known as “the Miz,” and John Morrison.

The “Dakiti” singer returned in April 2023 for WrestleMania 39. And then once more in May 2023 for WWE Backlash, when he squared off against Priest in a San Juan Street Fight in Puerto Rico. He won matches during both events.
