Angela Bassett Says Peter Krause Will Be ‘Missed’ After Shocking ‘9-1-1’ Episode ArticlePure

No one will miss Peter Krause more on 9-1-1 than Angela Bassett.

Days after Krause’s character, Capt. Bobby Nash, shockingly died on the Thursday, April 17 episode of the series, Bassett, who plays his wife Sgt. Athena Grant-Nash, spoke out on social media.

“For eight seasons, this kind, funny, compassionate, talented actor became not only my trusted colleague, but also a dear friend. #peterkrause as #bobbynash helped to introduce @911onabc to the homes and hearts of fans around the world. I know this is hard for all of you. It’s hard for us, too,” Bassett wrote on Instagram next to a photo of their two characters hugging.

The show shocked fans when Bobby ultimately sacrificed himself using the final antidote for the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever to save the life of Chimney (Kenneth Choi).

Bassett wrote that “Peter’s Bobby Nash will be missed but his character will never be forgotten.”

“He is forever a part of our family. We should all give Peter a lot of love as he expands beyond ‘the 118’ and into all adventures that await him. Love you, my friend. Athena will never be the same,” her post concluded.

As fans recall, their characters began dating at the end of season 1 and eventually got married in season 2.

Last month, before Bobby’s death aired, Bassett told PEOPLE that she couldn’t imagine a world where their characters weren’t paired together.

“Yeah, absolutely not. It would be so different. I don’t even know what the show would be like without them together. It’s hard to imagine,” she said.

Bassett told PEOPLE that their friendship is just as strong off-screen.

“He’s just so strong, and stable, and secure. He’s just calm. He’s just a calming influence. He’ll joke a little bit, but he don’t mind being the butt of the joke. Yeah. So he’d always have one,” she said.

9-1-1 co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear teased in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that although Peter Krause’s character has died, fans will get to see him again.

“What I would say is that episode 15 is not Peter Krause’s last appearance this season,” he said.
