A$AP Rocky is paying homage to Rihanna through a custom jewelry piece.

The “Fashion Killa” rapper, 36, took Vogue behind the scenes of his Harlem-inspired look for the 2025 Met Gala, which lit up the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 5.

The video sees the rapper showing off an ornate piece of jewelry in the end credits scene — a solid gold statue ring meant to emulate the silhouette of the Fenty Beauty founder, 37.

The statue ring was a replica of the “Diamonds” singer wearing a strapless, cleavage-baring minidress that was encrusted with sparkling diamonds. The head of the statue was decorated in gold chain links meant to emulate long braids — the chains swung around with each subtle movement of Rocky’s hand, replicating the way hair moves with each turn of the head.

After removing the ring — designed by Jason Arasheben of Jason of Beverly Hills — from his jewelry box, Rocky couldn’t help but gush over how much the piece resembles his girlfriend’s image and likeness.

“You see this sexy thing? My shorty got the little fatty on her too,” Rocky said in the video, trying the ring on his left pinky finger and holding it up to the camera so viewers could get a better look. “You see that forehead? You know who it is.”

Though Rocky showed off his Rihanna ring in his behind-the-scenes Met Gala photo, the rapper did not wear the ornate piece on fashion’s biggest night out.

Instead, Rocky wore a custom design from his AWGE creative agency consisting of a black vest, white button down top, slacks and a classic black tie.

The dad of two placed a Marmot-inspired parka — a nod to the jackets popularized by kids in his neighborhood — over the suit and paired the look with oxford shoes that AWGE made in collaboration with Christian Louboutin. In place of the Rihanna ring, Rocky wore Bulgari rings and added a necklace, brooch, and multiple stud earrings from the brand to complete his look.

The 2025 Met Gala theme, as well as its corresponding spring 2025 exhibition, was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The dress code for the evening, “Tailored for You,” served as a way to spotlight the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting.

The theme and the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition was inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. 

The 2025 Met Gala was a big night for Rocky — in addition to serving as co-chair for the event alongside Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo and honorary chair LeBron James, Rihanna used her attendance at the annual high-fashion charity event to reveal that they are expecting their third child together.

“It feels amazing, you know,” Rocky told reporters at the gala after Rihanna put her baby bump on display, per the Associated Press. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ‘cause we definitely happy.”
